Experience Nature

South Tyrol is an area rich in natural treasures that are waiting to be explored. Its a place to visit and revisit with so many wonders waiting to be discovered.

Just a few miles from Ora, next to the mountain road, is the protected natural area of Castelfeder. It stands on an area of porphyry rocks and is famous for its rich Mediterranean vegetation and prehistoric settlements, of which the remains are still visible today.

From the First World War to the Sixties there was a railway link between Bassa Atesina and Cavalese, in Val di Fiemme. In the last few years, the old dismantled railway in the Val di Fiemme has been transformed into an impressive track for cycling enthusiasts with a certain degree of training.

About a half hour drive from Ora is the Bletterbach canyon, also known as "Leaf Ridge": a canyon at the feet of the White Horn mountain. Bletterbach is one of the nine Dolomitic systems included on the UNESCO World Heritage Site and is very interesting from a geological point of view, observe the different periods of geological formation in the various exposed rock faces. After a hike in the canyon, refresh with a snack and a cold beer at one of the many farmhouse style eateries inthe area. Our top tip: Malga Laneralm in Aldino.

In Aldino you can embark on the "Three Mountains Tour": a hike through the mountains accompanied by the panoramic scenery of Mount Regolo. A journey of about three hours through which, starting from the area called "Lerch", first you reach the Malga "Schönrast" ("the beautiful rest"), then continue towards Laneralm and reach Schmieder Alm where you can enjoy the panoramic view of the White Horn and the Black Horn mountains. Simply wonderful!

The Monte Corno Nature Park is a paradise for hikers and thanks to its numerous paths it is suitable for both the experienced and less trained hikers. Mountain bike enthusiasts also welcome here.

Lake Caldaro can be reached in just a few minutes by car. The warmest bathing lake in the Alps is ready to enchant you with its rich Mediterranean vegetation, the unique panorama of the vineyards and the windsurfing and sailing possibilities. Around the lake you can choose from several theme walks, discovering the local flora and fauna.
